KINGS OF ARMENIA. Artaxias I, 190-160 BC. Hemichalkon (Bronze, 11 mm, 0.92 g, 11 h), first series, with Aramaic legends. 𐡌𐡋𐡁𐡏 - 𐡏𐡓𐡕𐡇𐡔𐡎𐡂 ('rthṣsy mlk' in Aramaic) Head of Artaxias I to right, bearded and wearing upright diademed bashlyk with three peaks. Rev. Eagle standing left with closed wings. Kovacs 42. Rare. An unusually clear example with well readable legends. Somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.
